全港約有290萬人患高膽固醇,其中罪魁禍首之一,正是腸仔、午餐肉等高飽和脂肪的加工肉食。高飽和脂肪食物,可激發壞膽固醇慢性阻塞血管。TOPick檢視市面常見39款腸仔,發現最高及最低飽和脂肪含量的腸仔,可相差9倍。

很多人或以為高膽固醇食物是體內高膽固醇的元兇,但事實上,飽和脂肪及反式脂肪的影響更大。飽和脂肪使血液更易凝結,引致血管硬化、中風、心臟病等疾病,並促進肝臟產生膽固醇,過量更會令血液的壞膽固醇上升。Nutri-Pro健營物理治療及營養中心註冊營養師Vivien提到,高飽和脂肪食物包括煙肉、腸仔、午餐肉等食物。
TOPick為此搜羅市面常見39款腸仔,檢閱各款香腸的飽和脂肪含量。當中涉及不同品牌,如JACKSON'S Grill brats、Johnsonville、金妹牌、廚師牌、佳之選等。
結果發現,最高和最低飽和脂肪含量的香腸,可相差9倍。最高飽和脂肪為「JACKSON'S Grill brats Smoked brats with cheddar」,達每100克14.1克飽和脂肪;而最低飽和脂肪則為「美國蜜都牌雞肉腸」,每100克只含1.47克。
據NHS(英國國民保健署):
- 每100克含5克以上:「高」飽和脂肪
- 每100克含1.5克至5克:「中等」飽和脂肪
- 每100克含1.5克或以下:「低」飽和脂肪
NHS建議選購時,應盡量選擇「中等」及「低」飽和脂肪類別的食物,亦即飽和脂肪每100克含5克以下的食品。

TOPick按此標準,整理每100克含5克以下的飽和脂肪腸仔名單,發現只有4款香腸屬於中至低飽和脂肪,包括「美國廚師牌高級雞肉腸」、「Royal Franks Chicken frankfurters」、「Harvest Creek Chicken franks with variety meats」及「美國蜜都牌雞肉腸」,其中只有「美國蜜都牌雞肉腸」這1款屬於「低」飽和脂肪。
